The Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund was created by the request of Mayor Maddox and the City of Tuscaloosa to raise funds for the disaster recovery efforts in the Tuscaloosa area. All donations will directly support the immediate needs of tornado victims, as well as the long-term rebuilding of Tuscaloosa. Though managed by the West Alabama Chamber Foundation, Inc., it is not a fund for businesses. Instead, funds will go directly to the Tuscaloosa community to impact local citizens, with no administrative overhead.   • Alabama SPCA – Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter has an immediate need for a battery powered generator. They need it quickly! Also need 12” squeegee heads with poles, floor mops and pooper scoopers badly. In need of cat & kitten fosters ASAP to care for cats displaced by the tornado. Please contact the SPCA on their Facebook page if able to help. Also, Birmingham’s main shelter needs bleach due to a disease outbreak.

  • Art Night in Downtown Northport’s is now focused on disaster relief. Free music and cake from Mary’s Cakes and Pastries on Thursday, May 5 from 6 – 9 PM. See the event’s Facebook page for a list of items needed. This is NOT a benefit, but an opportunity to take a break from the difficult times and have an hour or two of recharging and relaxing.
  • Bamastuff.com– Selling t-shirts with the proceeds going to the Red Cross. This is the Alabama Book store on the Strip on the Tuscaloosa campus.
